Emerging Ventures provides technical support and start-up assistance to entrepreneurs, scientists, and small business people perfecting and maturing their ideas and business concepts.
After two years in operation, the Emerging Ventures Center for Innovation has made a significant impact on the entrepreneurial climate in Greater Owensboro. Emerging Ventures has far exceeded the benchmarks set by the state in terms of startup company growth and high tech job creation during it's first two years of operation.
Centre For Business and Research
A 37,000 square-foot business accelerator and research facility designed to meet the growing demand for lab, research, and high technology company space in Owensboro. It will promote the growth of university level applied research and further cultivate high technology companies through the Emerging Ventures Center for Innovation and Kentucky BioProcessing (KBP).

Our Managment
Madison Silvert is the Vice President for Entrepreneurship and High Tech Development,
and he is the Director of the Emerging Ventures Center for Innovation. Mr. Silvert, a
lifetime resident of Owensboro, holds a degree in Economics from Centre College and
his Juris Doctor from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville where he
received a special certiļ¬cation in regulatory law and policy. He was in private legal
practice for six years prior to joining the Greater Owensboro Economic Development
Corporation. Mr. Silvert additionally serves Metropolitan Planning Commission.
Our Team
Our team consist of a group of partners who work together to provide entrepreneurs the help they need to succeed. The partners included with the eMerging Ventures, Owensboro Small Business Development Center - Murray State University, Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation, Department of Commercialization and Innovation, Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE), and Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce.
Small Business Consulting
Technical support and start-up assistance is provided to entrepreneurs, scientists and small business people perfecting and maturing their ideas and business concepts. eMerging Ventures is part of Kentucky's Innovation and Commercialization Process.
Business Plan Development
eMerging Ventures will provide business counseling and mentoring, consulting services, pro bono support in management, finance, marketing and technical support. Help will also be provided with business plan development, market demographic resources, data analysis and human resource assistance in finding a workforce.
Networking
Opportunities for networking will be available through membership with the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce other opprotunities such as the Green River Entrepreneur Club.
Office Space and Infrastructure
Resources are provided giving access to low cost office space through the Incubate Owensboro program and provision of high speed broadband, WiFi and video e-conferencing capabilities in available conference and training rooms.
Research and Development
Assistance provided with rapid prototyping through the Advanced Technology Center at Owensboro Community and Technical College or Western Kentucky University's Applied Research and Technology Program. Help provided with with intellectual property issues and applied research and university partnerships.
Financing
Innovative seed capital can be sought through various state and local fund sources, angel investor groups and Small Business Adminisration resources.

CENTRAL REGION INNOVATION & COMMERCIALIZATION CENTER
The WKU Business Accelerator is located at 2413 Nashville Road in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Accelerator currently houses 20 high-tech client companies.
GREATER OWENSBORO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
The Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation is the economic development agency for Owensboro and Daviess County. It is a public/private partnership formed to attract and to grow primary employers. The Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation also assists existing businesses with expansion projects.
SERVICE CORPS OF RETIRED EXECUTIVES (SCORE)
SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
OWENSBORO INTERNATIONAL TRADE OFFICE
Murray State will help area businesses wih market research and investment climate profiles, cultural orientation, consultation with international business planning, risk analysis and orientation to international trade issues.
OWENSBORO SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER - MURRAY STATE UNIVERSITY
Owensboro SBDC, operated by Murray State University, serves the Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union and Webster counties. The Owensboro SBDC provides one-on-one consultations at no cost to existing and potential entreprebeys ub Western Kentucky.
